DnD 5E - if you've fucked up and have nowhere to go you can always SEIZE THE MANDATE OF HEAVEN
The gods have watched over this world since this world was born. As long as we can remember, generations stretching back, years without count.
They are wise, grand, glorious and just. They are creatures who sprang fully forged from the ether, given form by mortal minds, here to guide us through our lives.
Do not defy the gods. Do not question the gods. They hold our world in their hands.
(They are inscrutable and cryptic, capricious and merciless. To challenge them in combat, to topple them alone, would be suicide and folly.
But there is more than one way to kill a god.)
You are the cursed, the forsaken, already scorched by the power of the divine. There is nothing left for you.
So there's nowhere to go but up.
The setting:
Technology wise, your standard DnD fare! Character-wise, literally anything. Do you want to play something from the monster manual? Sure let's work it out. If it's got a statblock I can finagle into a reasonable PC sheet, we'll do it.
What I need from you:
Name/plurk name:
Character concept:
The nature of your curse: This is an all-original pantheon, so feel free to elaborate on which god exactly did this to you. You don't have to name them or anything, I can do that fine, but if you've got your heart set on a particular thematic then I will not deny you.
Magic item to start with: I expect you to break my puzzles over your knee so I'm giving you a head start. One item to start with of your choice. I reserve the right to veto anything that's a bit too multipurpose OP, be creative.
Availability:
Anything else you want to tell me:

Anything else you want to tell me:

no subject
Character concept: SOLIMAR: blind cleric, pacifist, used to be a torturer for a dangerous cult
AMELIA: a warlock getting deeper and deeper into questionable magics and also paranoia and self-hatred in an effort to reverse a curse on her brother
NARAVELIA: a ranger with missing fingers that paid a terrible price to resurrect her child
OSTARA: good boys and girls get fresh meat and tree branches brought to them by the easter ghoul
ARTHASAVENANT (and Gale): an angry fucking sword that wants to avenge its forger's death and also a friendly but dim knight who's been suckered into wielding it.NYELV: bard. legend has it the god of learning and scholars cut his own tongue out as a payment for drinking from a pool of infinite knowledge. the tongue, forgotten, sank into the pool and absorbed things for a bajillion years. i'm playing as that tongue.
The nature of your curse: Solimar's sight was taken after seeing something terrible about the nature of the god she worshipped, and was furthermore prevented from ever telling anyone what she saw or warning them. She doesn't follow them any more, needless to say.
Amelia and her brother were both made undead, but Amelia was able to recover her mind somehow. Her brother is a nearly-mindless beast that she considers her responsibility.
Naravelia prayed to her god to resurrect her infant daughter, promising to perform a bloody act of betrayal in exchange. The child came back horribly wrong, and not only never ages, but also needs to be fed blood. Also she framed someone, and to do so she cut off the two fingers that let her draw a bow.
Ostara is almost completely animalistic, but at least it's a nice animal? She had almost all of her memory burned out and was raised by giant rabbits in the aftermath.
Avenant is a blade who is haunted by the ghost of the man that forged it. He was struck down for trying to make a weapon that could kill a god. Gale is the guy that found the sword, basically by accident.
NYELV IS JUST PISSED THAT HE GOT ABANDONED AND CUT AWAY BY THE GOD HE CAME FROM.

Magic item to start with: idk it depends on who i go with tbh
Anything else you want to tell me: i've played ten or so sessions but i'm still forgetty when it comes to things like what a DC is and what hit dice are and so forth
