if you've fucked up and have nowhere to go you can always SEIZE THE MANDATE OF HEAVEN...2!
ALRIGHT FUCK IT LET'S REJIG THIS IDEA INTO A LANCER CAMPAIGN.
You wake up in a barren wasteland, a mass grave littered with the corpses of people and mechs alike. You have been exiled, left for dead, or something else that you were never expected to survive for long. Your old life has burned away in conflict and turmoil, the worst has already happened...and yet, here you are, still alive. You are metaphorical ghosts, walking dead, irreversibly branded by your sentencing - so you have nothing left to lose.
This world has taken everything from you. What will you take back in your defiance?
WHAT I NEED
Name/plurk name:
Character concept:
Sentimental item: A reminder of your character's past and the life they, willingly or forcibly, left behind. Something good? Something bad? You tell me.
Availability:
Anything else you want to tell me:

Character concept: The victim of a hit and run accident by the son of a powerful and wealthy family. When he realized he'd hit someone while out driving, his first response was to send his security detail back to make the
corpseproblem disappear. When the security detail realized the young woman their employer's idiot son ran over was still alive, they decided to dump her and leave her for dead anyway. When she got back up, she decided to make her survival everyone's problem.
Sentimental item: A sketchbook.
Availability: Any day after two PM, EST.
Anything else you want to tell me: I am filled with an emotion I can only describe as Fuck Capitalism Actually, and I wish to derive catharsis by giant robot fights, because I love giant robots a lot.

-not only was she left for dead, she believes that she IS dead
-there may be some Cotard's syndrome-esque issues going on here
-but in fairness, she got run over by a car and then dug herself out of a shallow grave, so you can kind of see why she thinks that
-the part where she keeps obsessively checking herself over to see if she's started rotting yet is a little unsettling, though
-the wealthy family she was a maid for prior to her accident had uhhhhh Issues even by the standards of rich dysfunctional shitheads
-very fancy, very old blood old money vibes, very thinly-veiled hints that there's something Very Wrong Here beneath the surface, but the domestic staff are too busy trying to survive the entirely bland and mundane horror of living in crushing poverty to actually do anything about it and/or figure out the details
-basically she was a nameless, voiceless background character in a gothic horror novel just waiting to happen
-except now she's come back from the grave, kicked down the door, and announced that mom said it's HER turn to be the dramatically tormented Byronic heroine
-she's gonna pose on storm-wracked cliffsides and defy the will of God, fuck you
-prone to occasional vicious headaches for no clear reason, or at least no reason that she seems inclined to discuss
-you'd think that might be something to do with getting run over by a car, but they were happening before then, too...

Character concept: Castaway subject of an experimental pilot biotech program that was ultimately scrapped not for ethical concerns, but budget and PR. Think "MK-ULTRA with unstable pilot-NHP crossfading". Any whistleblowers/info leaks would have been hugely problematic for the host company, so the best way to get rid of them was to disappear everybody involved. For good.
Sentimental item: A crude looking bracelet made of discarded wires and scrap metal. Burn marks matching its design ring the skin on their wrist.
Availability: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 2-9 PST
Friday, all day
Saturday, after 6 PM PST (once Shovel Knight Valor ends)
Sunday, 3-7 PST (or 7-10 PST to account for travel time home)
Anything else: no concrete mech build set in stone yet, but i have a feeling it's going to involve a lot of HORUS fuckery.

Character concept: A Sparri Warrior who's entire family, along with the Voladores ship they were employed as bodyguards for, was destroyed by unknown attackers with overwhelming force. Like a whole ass space fleet.
His body is mostly destroyed and was used as testing for some experimental cybernetic tech (I'm kind of courting a battle angel alita vibe here). He doesn't know who attacked them or why, nor does he know who paid for rebuilding their body. All he does know is that when he do find out who killed his family, he's GOING to start killing people.
He's not sure when he'll stop.
Sentimental item: A broken sword. It's a terashima blade meant to be used by an Atlas, but Atlases are small enough that a human can carry one. Especially when half the blade is missing.
Availability: Well this is the big one isn't it? Realistically I shouldn't be doing this but I'm going to anyway because I have no self control and I am extremely interested in this game. What I'm going to do is, I think, put down my availability for this and, if it works out, join this game but bow out of another game I'm in the wings for.
(Also I can currently play either Friday after 5pst or Saturday after 5pst assuming this starts after disgaea valor ends)
Anything else you want to tell me: I possibly love small robots more than giant robots. Thus: Atlas.

Character concept: A man without a real memory, just vague recollections of being a scholar who was seeking out old colonies and opening vaults he should not have. And one day, he stumbled on something he shouldn't, secomm holdouts or the like. They fried his neurons so hard he's barely functional, and so much of his vast knowledge of the way things used to be on Cradle and elswhere seems lost in a haze of pain or neural scarring.
Sentimental item: A chess set with only 3 pieces remaining, all scarred by fire. A knight, a rook, and a pawn. The knight is black, the pawn is white, as is the rook.
Availability: Thursdays after 8 ET, Fridays after 6 ET, Mondays after 7 ET, Tuesdays after 7 ET, Saturdays whenever, Sundays after 6 ET (All times PM)
Anything else you want to tell me: I'm excited yoooo
Also I'm thinking Sherman.

Character Concept: Former 'independent contractor' (illegally hired mercenary and corporate deniable asset) hired by IPS-N representatives as muscle for a Metavault expedition. After a long, gruelling set of battles that slowly took a toll on their health and grasp of reality, the few remaining survivors hunkered down for a desperate last stand outside the inner chamber.
There, amidst screaming and gunfire, five backs pressed against the chamber door, the old stone creaked open as the Metavault welcomed its new guests inside.
She doesn't remember what happened, after that.
Her reflection is still screaming at her to wake up.
Sentimental Item: A non-functional hardsuit helmet, with large sections partially melted into slag. Unknown symbols have been branded into the most damaged portions.
Availability: Any day except Sunday, 2PM EST onwards.
Anything else you want to tell me: Mech choice is probably going to be Caliban, because the best solution to any given problem is always Shotgun.

Character concept: An Egregorian who left Hercynia to see the stars with the help of a friendly team of Lancers. Shot down and left for dead by an SSC black-ops squad aiming to delay public knowledge of the Egregorians from getting out. Might have weird memory problems due to separation from their hive and Overmind.
Sentimental item: A fragment of shed chitin from a hive-mate with a message in Witness etched into it.
Availability: I'm pretty booked at the moment but Fridays after 5pm PST should be open soon. Also possibly alternating Saturdays.
Anything else you want to tell me: I am probably going to put Personalizations (or Manipulators?) on a Zheng to give it six arms and name it Asura. Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 ‘From the New World’ IV. Allegro con fuoco will play at least once but probably more than once.
Meanwhile please enjoy this chiptune dance metal performance by the composer for the game The Messenger, who is also a techdeath drummer.

Concept: well, I was working as a lab tech for a company that specializes in biotech and something seemed a little bit off about the incoming subjects and I did a little bit of, looking into that, as you do, and I was expecting maybe a little tiny bit of cutting corners on intake forms here and there and nnnnot full blown? dubiously consensual? human experimentation? like I found out about when I got a little too deep into things, and by then of course going to the authorities would have looked not great for anyone involved, like also me? I was absolutely going to blow the whistle anyway - really, I was! which, tbh, they probably picked up on - damn body language analysis program, am I right?
I took my PTO and fled to a sensible far-off vacation location in preparation to unleash the evidence of the aberration collaboration. This did not go well for me or for indeed for anyone at that particular connecting spaceport.
Sentimental item: A favorite old paperback book, missing a chunk of the cover and honestly, a big chunk of the book itself, thanks to acid spray. It is quite similar to the owner of the book in that regard.
Availability: In EST: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, after 6 pm. Saturday, assuming DV2 ends soon, any time between 10am-midnight.
Other: I haven't played in a full Lancer before, just made a character sheet. I may require some handholdy.

Character concept: Someone with money and power went a little off the deep end after losing their wife, and ended up having a clone created. When that clone wasn't perfect enough in their eyes, they ordered for her to be gotten rid of. The person doing the ridding didn't make sure she was dead when they dumped her.
Sentimental item: A necklace given as a gift to her "original" version. Expensive, beautiful, and useless.
Availability: Right now, any time. I'll update if this changes in the future.
Anything else you want to tell me: Everything I know about Lancer seems incredibly cool, I want to try it.

-Very sheltered waif type now dealing with a survival situation.
-Struggling with the fact that she knows she's not the her in her memories but unsure of where that her ends and the new her begins.
-May have some not immediately noticeable cloning imperfections.
-The person that her memories say is her good, kind, safe, loving partner is actually a horrible bastard and she's struggling with that too.
-May have some issues regarding having "failed" to be the her she was "supposed" to be.

Character concept: A cute trainee who was entering a pilot program. However, on her first day, there was a terrible incident that nearly killed her. Despite the fault lying with negligence of the staff, all the blame was put on her shoulders. When she found out about this, shortly after waking up full of cybernetics she had definitely not consented to (because why waste a good candidate to a little near death experience), she might've gone a little bit apeshit and done a bit of a murder. Or a lot of murder. As a treat. She was promptly "decommissioned" instead and, well, here we are. Probably pretty busted up, still. Lot of anger issues. Like. A looooot of anger issues. Extremely ready to make this everyone's problem.
Sentimental item: A cute heart hairclip. Might be a bit singed. It's still good.
Availability: any day except Sunday is good. timezone weirdness and all, but I should be good any time between 12PM EST and 9PM EST (bc that's like, 3AM my time and that's def the limit for Awake Rem's power.)
Anything else you want to tell me: i just love robots so much

Character concept: It's not the ethical conundrum of being involved in attempting to exploit the alternate-dimensional nature Blinkspace. It’s not the early-career involvement in a major scientific catastrophe that threatened to corrupt reality, nor the ethical repercussions of attempting to undo a death in the wake of such, either. Fortunately, and a bit surprisingly considering the state of the galaxy, it’s not even the severe physical handicap that resulted in containing the mess. No, it’s ten years later, when a wealthy patron contacts the two survivors of the disaster – My PC and another individual who had been their peer – wanting to reopen the project. It’s when my PC bluntly declines while the other survivor consents, that my PC finds themselves... discarded.
This could be a sign that they’re long overdue for a career change.
(I have a LONG MESSY VERSION of this MOSTLY typed up but it definitely demands like, a bit of refining and DM discussion. We could do plot shenanigans!)
Sentimental Item: A necklace with a *seemingly* nigh-worthless manna-coin pendant.
Availability: Oh gee, lets think here...
First off, for reference, my timezone is EST.
The *ideal* time is Sunday, starting 6pm earliest and going on until late into the night no problem. Theoretically do-able times are Tuesday through Friday, 6pm to 11pm. Though there’s a DND West March group I’m in where a DM I really like tends to run games on Friday, so... tentatively mark that out?? Saturday night is reserved for knights, of course. uvu
Anything Else: Bruh I’ve never played Lancer before is it fun
