Character concept: Sentient magical weapon, possessing a 'dead' body.
(Uses the abilities and mechanics of a Half-Elven Pact of the Hexblade Warlock)
The Forge God is a fickle entity, striving for perfection amongst their creations yet never able to decide on what perfection actually is. Whatever magical items they create that do not make the cut are disposed of like trash, and this is exactly what happened to this particular magic weapon. A 'failed' attempt at a blade that could raise the dead, this young entity was fortunate enough to be discarded upon a recent battlefield within the mortal realm. Bonding it's soul to the nearest lifeless corpse, they now take their first steps within this new world, a peculiar blend of innocent wonder and morbid curiosity pushing them to discover their purpose, haunted by their supposed failures as a weapon of the divine.

The curse: The weapon is cursed by its own artificially-created soul, built only to destroy and consume the blood and spirit of other creatures. Its sentience, combined with a body that allows it truly interface with the world around it, grants them the self-awareness of their predicament, and the constant looming knowledge that they may very well not be nearly as free and 'alive' as they believe themselves to be.
Furthermore, their true nature as nothing more than a magically-created soul means that anti-arcana such as the Dispel Magic spell can immediately render them unconscious, if not outright leaving them in a life-threatening condition if said anti-arcana is strong enough. At the bare minimum, the connection between themselves and their current vessel will be severed, effectively inducing paralysis on the body until they can re-establish themselves.

Magic item to start with: Themselves - if the current body is killed or otherwise rendered unable to house a soul, their true form manifests adjacent to it: A greatsword forged from a strange silver-like material, pitch-black runes etched into the blade on either side. They can be freely wielded like any other weapon, but require proper resurrection or similar methods to be brought back into a body, provided there is one present during the process. Whether or not they can cast spells or use other abilities whilst in their true form is up to DM discretion.

Availability: Evenings (GMT) on most days, but weekends are preferred.

Anything else you want to tell me: Do not hesitate to use Dreamwidth or Plurk to ask me any further questions. Nothing written in this application is final, and I am more than open to any and all suggestions and/or changes that need to be made to the character, their curse, or their magical item. This includes picking an outright different character, if necessary.
